Die Scorpions sind eine deutsche Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Band aus Hannover.
Die erfolgreichste Besetzung der Scorpions waren Francis Buchholz (Bass), Klaus Meine (Gesang), Matthias Jabs (Gitarre), Rudolf Schenker (Gitarre) und Herman Rarebell (Schlagzeug). In dieser Besetzung ver
öffentlichen sie Hits wie „Blackout", „Still loving You", „No one like you" oder „Rock you like a Hurricane" , die international bis heute zu den Rockklassikern gezählt werden. In Deutschland wird der Sound der Band oft auf ihre Ballade „Wind of Change" reduziert. Charakteristisch für d
en Sound sind harte Powerchord-Gitarrenriffs von Rudolf Schenker im Zusammenspiel mit den melodiösen Soli von Matthias Jabs sowie die hohe metallische Stimme von Frontmann Klaus Meine und solide simple Standard-Schlagzeug-Rockbeats. Häufig zählt man sie zu den Initiatoren der so genannten Powerba
llade. Bands wie Metallica, Bon Jovi, und Def Leppard spielten in jungen Jahren als Vorband für die Scorpions. Billy Corgan, Frontmann der Smashing Pumpkins, zählt die Scorpions als seinen größten musikalischen Einfluss. Gleiches gilt für Bands wie Van Halen, Bon Jovi oder System of a Down, wel
